Malaysian Youth Outraged at MP's Behavior In Parliament

Too Dark, Can't See" - Baling MP's Comment In Dewan Rakyat ...

Chaos erupted at yesterday's Parliament session when several Member of Parliament (MP) threw disrespectful remarks towards younger parliament members.

When 27-year-old Syed Saddiq, also representing Muar, was presenting his points, members of parliament interrupted him by calling him "grandson" and continues to disrespect him by asking him to stop.

In another incident, Baling MP Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim threw an unnecessary remark towards Batu Kawan MP Kasthuri Patto, saying that she's "too dark, cannot see" when she was questioning the lack of women representation in the parliament.

Other MP members told Abdul Azeez to retract his comment, but he only told her to "put some powder" before he sat down.

Social media users, especially youths, voiced out their anger and said being younger doesn't mean they deserve to be treated with less respect.

Some even said that "this is the perfect example of how youngsters are treated in Malaysia. Our voices are not heard, and yet we are the ones who are expected to be the future of the nation."

Let's hope those MPs will behave better in the next parliament session. And Malaysian youths, I think we can make our voices be heard by voting in the next election!
