Assignment Additional Plus 1

Hari Raya supposedly to be the best celebration of the year since we get to see our family, relatives, and friends but since 2020 is the year where the COVID-19 decided to attack the entire world, I’ll guess we just need to put that on waiting list. For this year, we are supposed to go back to Pahang and celebrate with daddy’s side. We always arrive a week early before the first day of Hari Raya and I will be thrilled every time I wait for the arrival of that day because of this occasion our family will gather with other family members to celebrate this festival together.

But since we need to celebrate it on our own this year, it feels quite different and awkward at first but i still feeling grateful tho. So, on the first day of Hari Raya, I woke up early awakened by my mother.
After I finished taking a shower and performed the dawn prayer, I was getting ready to wear my last year baju kurung. After a while, my parents are preparing the living room so that all of us can perform Hari Raya prayer together. At the same time, I help my mom to prepare the foods and set up the table for seven of us. After fasting for 30 days, it is time for me to enjoy all kinds of food that was cooked by my beloved mother. My mom cooks the beef rendang, chicken rendang, and kuah kacang the day before Hari Raya. My mom also made raya cookies by herself and trust me it is the best cookies ever! Even tho we don’t get to spend it like we used to, but we still talk to other family members and relatives thru video calls. We talked and eat together even we are a hundred miles apart.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is special because all of the mistakes and hatred are been forgives and forget. Each of my family members would apologize to each other either older or younger which includes my family. The best part of Hari Raya would be the sampul duit raya. I thought I won’t get a duit raya anymore but I was wrong, my parents, uncles, aunties and my grandparent still give me the duit raya (but they banking it to my account) and I’ve got to say that I’m the happy girl for still be able receiving it. When night comes, my parents are letting off firecrackers and fireworks. The atmosphere filled with the sound of exploding fireworks. We all slept late that night, chatting with each other. I found it very odd because I think this is the very first time we got to talk longer than we used to. Maybe celebrating at home wasn’t a bad idea at all. We still got to eat all the food and salam raya just, it’s not that big celebration like the previous year. One-word I can describe my feeling right now would be blissful and I’m feeling happy with what I have no
